The Community Shop, Inc is excited to support local organizations that make a positive impact in our community. Each year, Community Shop, Inc. awards grants funded by proceeds from our resale store, turning your generous donations and community support into meaningful assistance for local causes. Our next grant period will open on December 1st, 2025 and close on January 15th, 2026.
Before submitting your proposal, please review the basic eligibility requirements outlined below to ensure your organization qualifies. Once you’ve confirmed eligibility, you can follow the steps provided on this page to complete and submit your application.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
Organizations must be a qualified 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and
The organization’s IRS Determination Letter must have an Aransas County address and
The Organization may not be affiliated with any church or secular mission.
How can grant funds be utilized?
All revenues must stay in Aransas County; activities must support Aransas County residents.
The funds cannot be used for individual scholarships, grants, camps or for-profit purposes.
Request must be measurable and verifiable.
Request must be congruent with your organization’s purpose and mission statement.
Proposed project/request is appropriate for your organization to request and undertake.
What forms do i need to apply?
IRS Determination Letter
Most recent 990 Tax Return (2024)
Monthly (12) and Annual (1) Income and Expense Reports (Jan-Dec, 2025)
Most recent Annual Profit and Loss Statement (Jan-Dec, 2025)
Proof that previous monies were spent on requested purposes (i.e. Receipts, invoices, purchase order)
Budget for any complex projects or undertaking (if applicable).
Signed and Fully completed Proposal Form with ALL attachments.

GRANT FAQs
How often are grants awarded?
The Community Shop, Inc awards grants on an annual basis.
What happens if I don’t use the money for the intended purpose?
You will be required to pay the money back to the Community Shop.
Can I submit my grant application at any time during the year?
No. Grant Proposals with all attachments may only be submitted during the Grant Proposal period.
How will I be notified if my organization is selected?
You will receive an Award Letter via email.
If My grant Proposal is approved, do I sign a contract about the use of the money?
Yes. A signed Contract and Acknowledgment must be signed before the money is released.
Do I need to be present at the Award Ceremony to receive my Grant Award?
Yes, a member of your organization must be present at the Award Ceremony to receive your funds. If a member is not present, the award will be forfeited.
Our goal is to approve as many applicants as possible, however, due to the number of qualified applicants and the availability of funds, an award is not guaranteed.
The Community Shop, Inc. uses strict state and federal guidelines to determine grant award recipients.
Applicants must meet the minimum guidelines and must submit ALL requested attachments for Grant consideration.
